Hello my beauty bunnies,
Hope everyone has been keeping well and enjoying the holidays thus far. I am well, aside from the heat I really can’t complain. I’m so glad to see that you guys are enjoying the beauty reviews; I appreciate the feedback – thank you! So I thought I would bring you one last review before year ends.
You guys know that one of my favourite things to do is to discover new beauty products in the market, trial them and see how they work for my skin; this is how I started doing my beauty reviews. Last month I came across the Dettol Even Tone Hygiene bar soap- it was launched last year, so it is fairly new in the market, that’s why you probably have not heard about it yet. Well, this is your lucky day… lol
There are certain things I look for in a soap bar before going ahead and committing to it; those things are: nourishment while cleansing my skin, keeping my skin looking and feeling healthy and also combating blemishes and uneven skin tone. Those are my top three concerns currently, which is what attracted me to the Dettol Even Skin Tone bar soap. Amongst those things, this soap has been specifically designed to remove 99.9% of the germs, dirt and oils which can cause irritation and blemishes on the skin. It also promises to reveal a more radiant and a healthy feeling complexion. So, I definitely had to try it, right?!
I have been using the soap for about a month now, which I feel is enough to figure out whether you like a product or not and most importantly to see any changes to your skin. By two weeks of use you should be able to notice some sort of improvement to your skin, if it’s a good product. I’ve been using the soap consistently on my entire body and I have been using it on my face to remove make-up at night. The first thing I immediately noticed about the soap is how smooth it feels on the skin, it literally feels like you are cleansing your skin with a beautifully scented sort of butter- it’s a lovely soothing feeling. Secondly, while using you can also see the dirt and oils coming off your skin. The soap produces a white creamy lather and as you rub it on your skin you can see the lather changing to a different colour. Whenever that happens always say “yip, there goes the damn germs” hahaha.
After a month of use, have I seen any improvements on my skin? Absolutely! I started noticing a change in the appearance of my complexion after about 12 days of use. My skin appeared to be more vibrant and healthy looking, it feels smoother and it looks great. The soaps give your body a thorough cleanse which makes it easier for your moisturizer to absorb. My blemishes on my hands are less visible and are slowing disappearing. My skin feels less oily, which is a plus for me because during summer my skin tends to be very oily especially around my nose area. However, my favourite thing about this soap is that it gives me the confidence of feeling completely germ-free after cleansing my whole body with it. It really does feel like I have washed off all the germs, especially after a gym or training session. You come back home feeling dirty, sweaty, oily and you feel like you picked up some germs from the gym equipment but after cleansing with this soap you get the relief of feeling totally cleansed and germ-free.
Would I recommend it?! Of course! I would recommend this soap for the whole family, it is gentle on the skin so mom, dad and the kids can use it and it is an over great cleansing soap – it removes all the unwanted impurities leaving your skin feeling refreshed. It’s quite easy to access; it retails for about R12.99 and you can find it at most beauty shops and grocery stores. Try it out this summer and let me know what you think.
